Getting here

Guadalajara lies just over 50 km to the north-east of Madrid and is within easy reach of the capital and the rest of the peninsula. The city's modest size means that conference venue, hotels and bus and train stations are all within easy walking distance.

By car

For those travelling by car, Guadalajara is on the A2 motorway (Madrid-Barcelona). Come off at km. 53 and follow signs to "Avenida del Ejército", at the very end of which you'll see the Education Faculty on your left, the Palacio del Infantado on your right. Free parking is easily available close to the conference venue in two carparks near the coach station (Calle de los Hermanos Fernández Galiano) and surrounding streets.

By train

A regular commuter service connects Guadalajara with Madrid's Atocha and Chamartín stations. Guadalajara Station is only ten minutes from the conference venue by foot.

Guadalajara is also served intermittently by the high-speed AVE line connecting Madrid with Barcelona. A bus service connects the AVE station at Yebes with Guadalajara city-centre.

By coach

Unless you are coming from Barcelona or Zaragoza, you will have to travel first to Madrid then take the Continental coach VAC-44, Madrid-Guadalajara, at the Avenida de América intersection. The service runs every twenty minutes at peak times, every half an hour the trest of the day. Guadalajara coach and bus station is only five minutes by foot from the conference venue.

By plane

To reach Guadalajara from Madrid's airport you will need to choose from the following options:

Taxi: the 40-50 minute journey will cost around 60 euros.

Bus: a frequent bus service (no. 200) connects airport terminals with the Canillejas intersection. From there (same bus-stop), Continental bus VAC-44 will take you to Guadalajara. Please be on constant lookout when waiting for the Continental bus and wave your arm vigorously to ensure it stops to pick you up.

Train:Metro line 8 connects all airport terminals with Madrid's Nuevos Ministerios station, which is connected to Guadalajara by a frequent commuter service.
